Prof Israel (Rully) Rozenboim was born in Jerusalem. He studied all his degrees at the Robert H. Smith Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environment, Hebrew University, Rehovot Israel. He conducted his postdoc at the University of Minnesota USA under the supervision of the late Prof El Halawani. At 1994 he became faculty member at the Department of Animal Science. He published more than 100 papers, many invited lectures, mentored many students. The general guiding line his research is of creating knowledge - based innovations to increase productivity in animal farming. The novel approaches are using targeted photostimulation to increase productivity in modern birds.
